SPIARS conducted a drainage analysis for a build-to-rent development in Celina, Texas, incorporating a creative solution to address site grading constraints. In order to minimize the need for excessive dirt import – while avoiding adverse downstream drainage impacts and providing an attractive amenity for the community –SPIARS designed a system of three retention ponds in series.
Project Highlights
• Interconnected Pond Routing model was used to evaluate the hydraulics ponds in series • Results of the study were seamlessly integrated into an existing downstream model, ensuring consistency and adherence to local engineering standards • Designed custom weir structure to optimize the performance of the onsite ponds
