Tim Spiars, SPIARS Engineering & Surveying CEO, is an accomplished Civil/Professional Engineer responsible for business management and operations, engineering design, project management and construction administration of single-family residential and municipal projects. Tim’s eye for detail and his exceptional ability to communicate with clients has been a tremendous asset to SPIARS’ growth and success. His commitment to excellence and dedication to exceeding client expectations has enabled SPIARS to achieve recognition as a company that takes great pride in producing cost-effective, high-quality work. Tim graduated from Texas A&M.

Director
Matt Dorsett, Civil/Professional Engineer and Director at SPIARS Engineering & Surveying, is responsible for engineering design, project management and construction administration of single-family residential and municipal projects. Matt’s involvement in all aspects of project design ensures SPIARS clients enjoy a level of service above and beyond the industry standard. Matt’s broad knowledge base, project management skills, and ability to build strong and lasting relationships have been key factors in SPIARS’s success in surpassing customer expectations in cost, quality and performance. In addition to his hands-on project design and management, Matt is also engaged in business management and operations.
Matt is a graduate of Texas A&M University (1993) and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. After graduation, he served as a Field Artillery Officer in the United States Army from 1993-1997.

Kevin Wier, Civil/Professional Engineer and Director at SPIARS Engineering & Surveying, is responsible for engineering design, project management and construction administration of multi-family residential and all types of commercial projects. He has an extensive background in urban redevelopment, Greenfield developments, and LEED projects throughout the State of Texas. Kevin is committed to providing superior client service and top-quality results. He has a proven record of success in the delivery of innovative design solutions, enabling customers to meet their goals with cost-effective, high-quality results. In addition to his hands-on project design and management, Kevin is also engaged in business management and operations.
Kevin is a graduate of Texas A&M University (1998) and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering.

Danny McCamish grew up in Walnut Creek, California (East Bay Area). He received his civil engineering degree from Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo, California. Danny moved his family to Texas from Bainbridge Island, Washington. Danny loves to spend time vacationing with his family in Mexico and has a goal to visit as many states in the United States as he can, road trip anyone? Hanging out with his kids playing games, playing and writing music or studying the Bible are a few of Danny’s favorite things.

A proven top performer and a Registered Professional Land Surveyor in the State of Texas, Darren Brown is the Survey Manager for SPIARS Engineering & Surveying. Darren has earned a reputation as a dependable professional who consistently produces top-quality results within budget, while building and leading qualified field crews.
Darren is a graduate of Tyler Junior College (1990) and holds an Associate of Science degree in Surveying.

Melinda is a graduate of Louisiana State University in Shreveport and holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management.

As the Chief Culture Officer, Steve Blaschke works with the leadership team to create alignment in all aspects of SPIARS Engineering, from people, to systems, to processes. Steve’s diverse background spans across food services, high tech, engineering, and telecommunications, allowing him to bring a unique approach to identifying and solidifying best practices throughout the SPIARS Engineering organization. His experience with small to medium sized businesses has prepared him to create a solid launching pad for SPIARS Engineering as they grow and expand their services.
Steve is a graduate of Baylor University and holds an International Relations degree (1988) and a Master of Communications (1996) with an emphasis in training and organizational development.

Tyler Barnett joined the SPIARS Engineering & Surveying team in 2015 after graduating from Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering. As a member of the Commercial Land Development team, Tyler works closely with the survey teams to help with engineering design. In addition, he assists the project managers with the design, production and permitting of various commercial, multifamily and institutional projects.
Tyler enjoys working out and playing any athletic sport. He really enjoys golfing and watching sports on TV.

Senior Engineer
David Bond joined the SPIARS Engineering & Surveying team as a P.E. after completing a successful internship with the company. As a Senior Engineer, David oversees the design and production for multiple commercial clients and manages a team of engineers.
David’s favorite way to spend his time when he is not at work is with his wife Amber and their two boys, Eli and Jackson. A graduate of Texas A&M University, he is a die-hard Aggie sports fan and lives on the emotional roller coaster that accompanies his devotion to the cause.

Mark Ewing is a graduate of Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering. He joined the SPIARS Engineering & Surveying Commercial Land Development team in January 2019 and provides the project managers with the design, production and permitting of various commercial, multi-family and institutional projects.
Mark is a self-proclaimed foodie and enjoys exploring Dallas-Fort Worth for unique places to eat. He is a strong supporter of the microbrewery business and enjoys exchanging local beers with brewers from other regions and states. Mark and his wife, Bailey, enjoy discovering new places to eat and hanging out with their dog, Winnie.

Jamie Gallagher is responsible for engineering design, project management, and construction administration of multi-family residential and all types of commercial and municipal projects. He has an extensive background in Municipal projects throughout the State of Texas. Jamie is committed to providing innovative design solutions and enabling customers to meet their goals with cost-effective, high-quality results.
He’s married with two children and has a BS in Civil Engineering from Texas Tech (2014).

Luis Guerrero attended and graduated with a civil engineering degree from the university of Texas at Arlington. Luis works out of our Fort Worth office and has a background that includes both residential and commercial land development. His diverse experience is an asset to lead a broad range of projects.
Luis is a coach at heart and spends his free time coaching baseball and football teams his kids play on. Anytime he can spend with his family is his favorite thing to do.

A graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering, Ryan Hartman joined the SPIARS Engineering & Surveying land development team in March 2019. As an engineer in training, Ryan produces civil engineering designs and manages single-family residential projects. One of Ryan’s specialized areas of expertise is hydraulics and hydrology. He also enjoys developing engineering training modules and instructing other engineers through SPIARS’ development program.
Ryan enjoys playing and watching sports, watching movies, reading a mixture of fiction and non-fiction books and making new experiences with his family. He and his wife, Sarah, live in McKinney, Texas, with their beautiful children, Cora, Margot, and Theo.

Senior Engineer
Greg Helsel has an undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering from Texas A&M University and a master’s in Systems Engineering from Southern Methodist University. As a Senior Engineer, Greg oversees design and production for multiple single-family residential clients and manages a team of engineers. Greg also works closely with our new residential engineers in training through our mentoring and training program.
Greg enjoys going to the lake, water skiing and taking vacations in the mountains to go skiing. Working out and hanging with families or friends are a few of his favorite activities, as well.

Jordan Huneycutt attended Texas Tech University and graduated with a degree in civil engineering. Jordan works in our Fort Worth office and provides engineering expertise in single-family residential design.
Jordan enjoys traveling with his wife, camping, hiking, and attending FC Dallas soccer games. Someday he would like to travel to Tierra del Fuego/Southern Patagonia in Chile/Argentina, and travel around Iceland.

Joe is a graduate of Texas A&M University, class of 2015. He graduated with a bachelor’s in civil engineering. Joe works on our commercial land development team and has a focused expertise in multifamily developments. One of Joe’s favorite aspects of his work is collaborating with teammates and clients to solve challenges during the project process.
Joe enjoys, woodworking, cooking, baseball, movies, and puzzles. One of his favorite vacations was a trip to Italy with his wife. When not traveling abroad Joe enjoys visiting national parks.

Traffic Engineering Services Manager
Hunter Lemley, the Traffic Engineering Services Manager at SPIARS Engineering & Surveying, oversees project design and ensures clients receive exceptional service. He is responsible for all aspects of traffic engineering analysis and design. Hunter holds a degree in Civil Engineering and is a graduate of the Ohio State University.
He loves spending time with family, being active, and anything with sports. Hunter is an active leader in his church while enjoys bringing people together and fellowship with others.
Hunter’s favorite vacation memory is a Mediterranean Cruise with his wife exploring historical locations on the coasts of Greece and Turkey.

Mike Martinie is a Senior Engineer in the SPIARS Engineering & Surveying Commercial Land Development team. Since joining SPIARS in 2017, Mike has managed the design, production and permitting of various commercial, multifamily and institutional projects. He enjoys helping his clients work with city management in order to get projects through the permitting process and into construction.
Mike is a graduate of Texas A&M University and he and his wife, Chelsea, enjoy hanging out as a family with their two children, Millie and Bennett. Mike is an active leader in his church and loves playing his guitar and coaching his kids’ soccer teams.

Brendan Ochoa comes to the great republic of Texas via California, where he grew up in Pleasanton. He attended Cal Poly in San Luis Obispo. Brendan graduated with a civil engineering degree and leads projects on our residential team.
Brendan enjoys vacations to Lake Tahoe with his family (summer and winter). Traveling to the mountains, mountain biking, and snowboarding are a few of his favorite activities.

Tristan Poore is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering and started his career at a local civil engineering firm before joining SPIARS Engineering & Surveying in February 2020. As an Engineer, Tristan assists multiple project engineers on residential land development projects. Foreseeing and solving engineering problems is one of the reasons he loves being a civil engineer.
Tristan loves specialty coffee and bringing people together for fellowship over a nice cup of
high-quality coffee. He is also involved in service at his church and loves traveling and going
on adventures with his wife, Monica.

A graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering, Kevin Schara joined the SPIARS Engineering & Surveying land development team but has experience on federal and commercial civil projects.
Kevin likes interacting with industry professionals and designing solutions that are then implemented into the projects he works on.
Kevin enjoys reading, playing the guitar, and spending time outdoors. One of his favorite vacations was a trip to Spain with friends.

Colton Smith is a graduate of Texas A&M University with a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering and joined the Residential Land Development team at SPIARS Engineering & Surveying in March 2020. He has been focused in the area of hydraulics and hydrology analytics. As an engineer in training, Colton supports project leads with designing, permitting and the development and delivery of documents, contracts, estimates and construction plans.
Colton plays basketball in a local city basketball league. He enjoys a good book and likes to get out and backpack in nature.

Karis graduated from Texas Tech University, earning her civil engineering bachelor’s degree. Karis works on our commercial land development team. She joined the Spiars Engineering team in 2021 and brings with her experience in commercial site development.
Karis enjoys traveling into the national parks around the United States. Her hobbies include activities that take her outdoors hiking, kayaking and being in nature.
