Traffic Engineer

Job Description

We are looking for civil engineers, specializing in traffic and/or transportation engineering.

The position is to work alongside staff engineers in the design, analysis, and production of traffic engineering for various commercial and residential projects. These tasks are to include providing assistance in completing traffic studies and applicable construction drawings from a project-to-project basis.  The position will report directly to the traffic engineering services manager. 

Job Functions

  • Read, interpret, and work from basic and routine traffic analysis, sketches, exhibits, and construction drawings.
  • Receive work direction, assist in effectively organizing projects, communicate effectively and foster a cooperative work environment with survey and engineering team members.
  • Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D to prepare schematic, design development, and final (construction) drawings as required.  Also, utilize AutoCAD to complete simple exhibits for traffic studies.
  • Utilize Microsoft Excel to complete calculations in preparation for various traffic studies.
  • Utilize other traffic analysis software, such as Synchro, to assist in the completion of traffic studies, such as Traffic Impact Analyses (TIAs).
  • Create and markup existing PDF documents using Adobe/Bluebeam.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new principals and ideas for completing projects.

Educational Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Civil Engineering
  • In process to obtain EIT with intention to obtain PE license.
